About
After 25 years of driving and 27 different vehicles, I finally got an EV. Having spent decades thinking in engine sizes, MPG, and fuel prices by the litre (or gallon!), switching to "kilowatt-hours" felt like a foreign language. A battery capacity figure didn't give me the instant mental picture that a tank of petrol or diesel always had.
Just enter your current petrol or diesel car and its average economy. Then pick an EV you're curious about, look up its average miles per kWh (or km/kWh), and pop that in.
The calculator converts those stats into a familiar figure: the price that fuel would need to be for your car to match the running costs of that EV.
